If you are a Hunter student interested in ESL sections of ENGL 120 and 220, and/or Free Skills-Based Workshops, please contact the Coordinator, Cindy Wishengrad,cwisheng@hunter.cuny.edu.
Ms. Wishengrad is an Adjunct Lecturer of English as well as the Coordinator of the ESL Support Program. She holds a Master's Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Hunter College, and has over twenty years of experience teaching English--academic English, developmental reading, developmental writing, and expository writing--to both nonnative and native English speaking students. She has also taught graduate courses to future teachers in the MATESOL Program at Hunter College.
Ms. Wishengrad has written a CUNY-published short novel for beginner English language learners, Jesse's Story, and has been published in IDIOM, a journal for teachers of English as a Second Language.
Additionally, Ms. Wishengrad serves as the Campus Representative on the ESL Discipline Council, a CUNY-wide committe of ESL Program Coordinators and Chairs, working together to bring the best education and resources possible to our nonnative-speaking community of students.

Note that this ESL program is only for matriculated Hunter students. If you would like to take ESL language courses and you are not a Hunter student, you must reach out to the International English Language Institute at Hunter. This is a language school that has many different levels of English courses.
