COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES 

 

Community Semester:

An accelerated, one-semester program, helping social justice enthusiasts become leaders in their communities.

Program Details

  • Semester-long, full-time intensive academic and service-learning program
  • 28-hour commitment at exciting placements in community-based organizations
  • 4 courses in urban studies and community leadership taught by outstanding faculty

Benefits to Students

  • Develop leadership skills
  • Gain hands-on experience
  • Subsidized tuition and fees up to $7,000 (excess of tuition costs are issued to students)
  • Earn an undergraduate or graduate certificate in Community Leadership and credits towards a college degree

AmeriCorps:

Spend the academic year serving in nonprofit orgs. and help tackle our nation's most pressing challenges.

Program Details

  • 11 months-long, full-time, intensive academic and service-learning program
  • A total of 1800 hours of service in exciting placments in nonporit organizations
  • 2 courses per semester (4 courses total) in urban studies and community leadership

Benefits to Students

  • Problem solve and develop leadership skills
  • Gain hands-on experience
  • Living allowance of $21,000 paid in increments over the course of 11 months
  • Educational grant of up to $6,345
  • Earn an undergraduate or graduate certificate in Community Leadership and credits towards a college degree
