Distance Dietetic Internship

Hunter College offers a Distance Dietetic Internship option that is intended to include non-traditional interns who might find it difficult to participate in a conventional dietetic internship, but nevertheless show potential as Registered Dietitians.

Distance interns must live within a two-hour commuting radius of the Hunter College Silberman Campus. This is essential because along with other interns, they will attend a week of orientation and a weekly intern seminar, as well as participate in various other activities on campus.

Distance interns must locate supervised practice sites equivalent to those currently utilized in the program, including Medical Nutrition Therapy (acute care), Food Service Management, and Community/Public Health Nutrition. Curriculum and evaluation materials will be provided by the internship.

Supervised practice sites must be secured by the time the application is submitted on February 15, and must be reviewed by the Dietetic Internship Director prior to starting the internship. All sites will be required to sign an agreement with Hunter College prior to accepting interns for supervised practice. The Distance Dietetic Internship Application must be submitted via email to Dietetic Internship Director Dr. Victoria Fischer,  by February 15. Click HERE to access the Application form.

*Please note that the Hunter College Distance Dietetic Internship program has a different code number, and can be found on the D & D Digital website at the time of registration.
