Apply to a Hunter Research and Mentoring Program

Welcome to the SciMON network General Application page. We are excited that you are interested in enhancing your undergraduate experience by applying to a research and mentoring program. You are taking an important step to prepare for your future in research. A complete application to a Hunter research and mentoring program includes:

  • Completed and Submitted General Application
  • Completed and Submitted Supplemental forms for programs that require one
  • Additional information/documentation if required by individual programs (submitted directly to each program office)
  • Two letters of recommendation from Hunter faculty, with a recommendation cover sheet attached to each letter submitted
  • A personal  essay or short answer essays 

Please note: the following programs require that you complete a Supplemental Form in addition to the General Application: BP-Endure, Catalyst, McNair. For more information please review the General Application Information BEFORE completing the General Application.

Use the General Application to apply to the following programs: Catalyst, BP-Endure, MARC, MBRS-RISE, McNair and Noyce.
Please note: the following programs require that you complete a Supplemental Form in addition to the General Application: BP-Endure, Catalyst, McNair. To complete a supplemental form for each program to which you have applied see the Supplemental Forms section below. For more information about how to complete and submit a complete application please review the General Application Information.

This section contains Supplemental Forms for the following programs: Catalyst, BP-Endure, and McNair.  These programs require applicants to provide information in addition to the General Application. If you have applied to a program that requires a Supplemental Form, return to this page after you have completed the General Application to complete a Supplemental Form for each program to which you have applied.

Faculty Recommendation Cover Sheet

A complete application package includes two letters of recommendation from Hunter faculty. Each faculty recommendation must include a Faculty Recommendation Cover Sheet. The objective of the Mellon Mays Undergradaute Fellowship (MMUF) is to increase the number of minority students pursuing Ph.D.s in the arts and sciences, particularly in humanities.
