Academic Advising

Attention entering Freshmen, transfer students, students with graduation audit questions, students interested in obtaining internships and those interested in Hunter's MA program in Computer Science, Discipline-specific academic advising will be available to students. Read on ...

In addition to general academic advising, handled by the Office of Student Services, the Computer Science Department offers discipline-specific advising dealing with academic matters largely particular to Computer Science and the administration of the Department.

 

Ms. Joseline Marin is the advisor for information regarding applicable courses, pre-requisites, and other matters pertaining to registration and departmental rules and regulations. She can answer questions about CS courses, the CS department, general Hunter core requirements, and other matters pertaining to registration and Hunter rules and regulations. Mr. Justin Tojeira is the CS advisor for students who are taking CSCI-13500 and higher, and transfer students with who do not have credit for CSCI-23500. Appointments must be scheduled through ww.hunter.cuny.edu/advising

Mr. Eric Schweitzer provides guidance for students in their senior year and also determines elegibility for course equivalencies. He is also the person to contact regarding letters for CPT and OPT. Likewise, appointments for advising can be made on Navigate. He will accept general academic advising appointments which must be booked through www.hunter.cuny.edu/advising

Students interested in the concentration offered in Quantitative Biology should see Associate Professor Saad Mneimneh to declare their major/concentration in QuBI.

Individuals interested in the Masters Program in Computer Science should schedule an appointment with Associate Professor Subash Shankar.
