Pre-Health Group Advising for Transfer Student
The Pre-Health Advising Office will hold a group advising session for transfer students. This session will cover the requirements for a Pre-Health file, Committee Letter and address any other questions or concerns you may have. Many successful Pre-Health students begin their careers at the community or other colleges and universities. We strongly encourage you to get involved in the Hunter College Pre-Health community.
Everything You Need to Know about Being a Pre-Health Student
This workshop is geared towards students who are interested in going on to professional health care programs of medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary and podiatric medicine. This workshop is designed to ensure students learn the basic information and can begin meeting the requirements for competitive application.
Quantitative Sciences Undergraduate Research Experience (QSURE) Information Session
The QSURE internship program is designed for exceptional undergraduate students with an aptitude in quantitative sciences and an interest in cancer and population health. Students will participate in an individual research project and receive exposure to methods in biostatistics, epidemiology and health outcomes research.

Gift of Life Speaker Event: Sean Conklin
Sean Conklin is the community engagement coordinator for Gift of Life and is coming to Hunter to talk about his own donation experience, the science of saving lives, and how students can help make a difference. Join us to learn more about the incredible non-profit organization, which strives to cure patients of blood disorders. Food will be served!
Altius Practice MCAT Exam
Altius will be offering a free half-length proctor MCAT exam. This exam will be an exact replica as the actual MCAT. You will have an actual MCAT experience from the check in to the actual exam. This is an excellent opportunity for you to see exactly what the MCAT will be.
Pre-Health Discussion Forum: The Physician as Patient
Please join us for a poetry discussion on "The Physician as Patient." There's no assigned reading beforehand (!), and snacks will be provided by the facilitator, Slavena (because every student knows that a good snack is fundamental to a good day). We look forward to seeing you!!

The Pre-Health Professions Advising office will be hosting a resume workshop for freshmen applying to summer internships and research programs.
2020-2021 Committee Letter Application Workshop
The Committee Letter workshop organized by the Pre-Health Office to provide each undergraduate applicant or re-applicant with valuable information about preparing your Committee Letter Application and your medical, dental or veterinary school application. This includes guidelines for preparing Personal Statements and other parts of the application. These guidelines are presented to help applicants to craft their personal statements and other parts of their Committee Letter Application.
American Red Cross at Hunter College Volunteer Orientation
The American Red Cross at Hunter College will host an info-session for Pre-Health students. The event will provide information on opportunities for community outreach. You will receive Red Cross volunteer hours for attending this meeting, Information to register with us will be included below. It is recommended to complete registration as soon as possible to begin accumulating hours. The registration includes an online orientation where you will learn about the Red Cross mission and some information on some of volunteers opportunities. We will have plenty of these opportunities available for you to RSVP to for the weeks following the meeting. These opportunities include; Volunteer work in Disaster Services, Home Fire Preparedness training, Psychological First Aid, Soup Kitchens, Blood Drives, Mass Care and Sheltering. We will explain how each of these events helps in the betterment of those in our communities. We're looking forward to meeting you!

This workshop will offer a step-by-step detailed action plan for students to follow with the intention of providing them with the framework for a strong and comprehensive application. The workshop will break down the students’ responsibilities as an applicant by year, and provide different scenarios and paths that perhaps they haven’t considered but that will lead to a more competitive application.
