Year Round Programs

International Service Learning Programs

International Service Learning (ISL) offers experiential, multi-disciplinary humanitarian health programs in Central and South America, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Africa. These programs are not artificial or “practice” programs – they are the real thing. Get experience based on your field of study: medical, veterinary, optometry, dental, physical therapy.

Who Qualifies: Almost anyone.

Cost: Every trip is different but usually upwards of $1000

Length: Summer and Winter sessions available

Child Family Health International (CFHI)

CFHI is a global family of health professionals and students working at the grassroots level. We support our International Partners through community health projects and Global Health Immersion Programs. CFHI's 20+ programs in 5 countries connect local health professionals with international students -transforming perspectives about self, global health and healing. Spring & Summer 2012 Programs

Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s Science and Medicine Program (SciMed) Program

Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s Science and Medicine Program (SciMed) is an admissions path to medical school that offers undergraduate students maximum flexibility to pursue a personalized yet rigorous science curriculum for selected undergraduate science majors. The program assures highly motivated undergraduates provisional admission to Mount Sinai School of Medicine upon successful completion of program requirements and graduation from their undergraduate institution. Students apply to the program in the second semester of their sophomore year in college.

  • Sophomores in good academic standing
  • SAT scores greater than or equal to 700 in every section
  • College GPA greater than or equal to 3.6
  • Evidence of a longstanding commitment to scientific research
  • Declared Undergraduate major in math, genetics, engineering or computer science

SUNY Downstate Special Programs

EHC program - $1500 awarded for 6 weeks in the summer. This is for current freshmen before they start their sophomore year. (one summer obligation)

PATH Graduate Studies are for sophomores or juniors. Approximately $3000 is awarded each summer (2 summer obligation). Afterwards there is a guaranteed acceptance into the Ph.D program at Downstate (BS -->Ph.D, expedited program/no Master's needed). Additional stipend every year they are in graduate school in addition to tuition free.

PATH Allied Health Track - $1500 stipend (one summer obligation) for sophomores or junior who want to be a physician Assistant (PA) or a Physical Therapist (PT).

UNLV Dental School Simulated Course

This is a two day hands on, highly interactive course which allows pre-dental students to get a firsthand view into what it is like to be a dental student at UNLV School of Dental Medicine.

Dates: May 18-19, and June 8-9

Registration begins March 20th for in-state students, and April 3rd for out- of-State students

The Program in Premedical Studies at The City College of New York will be hosting a Medical School Fair on Saturday, March 24, 2012. Flyers are attached.
