NERA MedPrep & SMDEP Summer Program at Columbia University Information Session

Cindy Estevez, the program coordinator for the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs at Columbia University Medical Center will discuss the NERA MedPrep Program. edPrep is a free, summer enrichment program targeting traditionally underrepresented and/or economically disadvantaged New York City and New Jersey resident college freshmen and sophomores interested in attending medical school. MedPrep is a 3 year summer commitment designed to give students an opportunity to develop key skills and competencies important to success on the MCAT and in medical school. Accepted New York resident students begin the MedPrep program at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. The MedPrep Program is best suited for candidates without summer obligations as the program is full-time. Accepted students receive stipend support. There is no application. She will also discuss the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP), a free six-week program for freshman and sophomores who are underrepresented in medicine and dentistry and are interested in submitting an application for the March 1, 2016 deadline.

The Commonwealth Medical College Admissions Presentation

Jillian Golaszewski will give an admission talk about The Commonwealth Medical College. The Commonwealth Medical College is an independent medical school located in northeast and north central Pennsylvania that offers a community-based model of medical education with four regional campuses - North, South, West, and Guthrie. Each of these campuses is an integral part of the College’s distributive model of medical education and provides students with early clinical experiences in diverse settings. Free Exam I Review for General Chemistry II
