Department Chair

The Chair of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology works with faculty, students and staff ensuring both academic and administrative objectives are attained. As administrator, the chair represents the Department's interests to the rest of the College, serves as liaison to meet program accreditation standards, and oversees curriculum development. The chair works closely with all faculty helping to promote teaching, research, and service.

Some of the duties of char are to assist faculty in professional development and promotion, mediate student issues and facilitate academic advancement. The chair attends the annual meeting of the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders with the Hunter College Center for Communication Disorder's clinic director bringing back new ideas about graduate education in the fields of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Currently serving as Department Chair is Michelle MacRoy-Higgins, PhD, CCC-SLP.
