As the program suggests, http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/romancelanguages/ceca/program-conference-2015 the conference brought together high-profile scholars from the Canary Islands, Cuba, the UK, and the US. Professor Hernandez-Ojeda called the conference "a wonderful opportunity to engage in academic scholarship about the role of archipelagos in Atlantic history while offering a critical perspective on traditional academic eurocentrism."
