Professor Lisa Corinne Davis Curates Upcoming Exhibition, 'Representing Rainbows'

Lisa Corinne Davis, a Professor of Painting at Hunter, is curating an upcoming group show at Gerald Peters Gallery, Representing Rainbows. The impetus for the show was a 2014 article by Davis, also entitled 'Representing Rainbows,' which was published in the Brooklyn Rail. Davis writes, "throwing themselves into the experiential  world, willfully ignoring systematic knowledge, these artists are embracing how wonder can occupy a phase of the alert mind. Their representation of rainbows encapsulates the essence of aesthetic experience and the artistic journey." The exhibition, which runs from August 22-October 8, will have an opening reception on September 9 from 6-8pm.
