Hunter Opera Theater Performs at National Conference
Directed by Professor Susan Gonzalez, and conducted by Assistant Professor Reuben Blundell, Hunter Opera Theater performed at the annual conference of the National Opera Association on Friday, January 10, in the Roosevelt Hotel Ballroom in Manhattan, as guests of the NOA. They performed the winning opera of the NOA's biennial Opera Competition, "An Embarrassing Position," by composer Dan Shore, Assistant Professor at Xavier University in New Orleans, LA. The cast was current Hunter vocal students, and as a collaborative venture with the Manhattan School of Music, the orchestra consisted of graduate and undergraduate students from MSM.
