National Academies of Sciences' Report on Immigrant Assimilation in US is Released
Professor Nancy Foner, of the Sociology Department, was one of eighteen immigration scholars who sat on a panel appointed by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, to study the issue of immigrant assimilation into US society. The panel recently published its report which, according to an article in the New York Times, indicated that "the newest generations of immigrants are assimilating into American society as fast and broadly as the previous ones, with their integration increasing over time 'across all measurable outcomes.'"
