Professor Diana Reiss Invited to Speak at Science & Entertainment Exchange
Dr. Diana Reiss, a comparative psychologist who has studied dolphin behavior since the 1980s, has been invited to be a speaker/participant in the Science & Entertainment Exchange, an outreach program of the US National Academy of Sciences that leverages the power of media images to communicate STEM messaging to broad audiences. The Exchange, which runs from August 5-7, 2016 , "will bring together a select group of 15 elite Hollywood screenwriters and 15 experts skilled at communicating their work," according to a press release. "The goal of the Exchange is to inspire some of the best storytellers in the world with some of the most exciting science, engineering, and technology that is taking place today."
Dr. Reiss' work on vocal learning in dolphins was also recently featured in the pages of Discover magazine.
