Distinguished Professor Meena Alexander to be Poet-in-Residence at Ghetto Nuovo in Venice
Distinguished Professor Meena Alexander, of the English Department, has been named "Poet-in-Residence" at the Ghetto Nuovo in Venice, Italy. As part of the five hundredth anniversary celebration of the Venetian Ghetto, she will compose a cycle of poems inspired by the life and work of the seventeenth century Jewish poet and scholar Sarra Copia Sulam.
