Professor Karen Hunter's Role in Flag Debate Noted in NY Times

Karen Hunter, distinguished lecturer in Hunter's Film and Media Department, is credited by the NY Times for her key role in advancing a petition to remove the Confederate flag from the South Carolina capitol grounds, http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/29/us/how-the-rebellion-against-south-carolinas-confederate-flag-grew.html   According to the article in the Times, Professor Hunter drafted an online petition that demanded the flag’s removal from the State House grounds after being told by a receptionist at the State Capitol "there’s nothing to be done.” The petition would go on to garner more than 566,000 signatures. Professor Hunter also addressed the issue as host of her own radio show on Sirius XM .
