Hunter Anthropology Alumna Wins Journalism Award

Aurora Almendral, who earned her BA in Anthropology at Hunter, has won a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for her news documentary "Living Proof: Storms, Sex and Survival in the Philippines" (http://thegroundtruthproject.org/storms-sex-survival-podcast/).  The Radio Television Digital News Association has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971.  Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Murrow set as a standard for the profession of electronic journalism. Almendral's work has also been mentioned in The New York Times and on the BBC, among other major news outlets.
