Professor Benjamin Ortiz Among Inaugural Recipients of 'New Careers in Immunology Fellowship' from the American Association of Immunologists
Professor Benjamin Otiz was selected, along with his designated trainee, graduate student Jordana Lovett, to be among the first awardees of the Careers in Immunology Fellowship Program, sponsored by the American Association of Immunologists (AAI). Professor Ortiz, of the Biological Sciences Department, is working with Ms. Lovett on a project entitled 'TCR-alpha gene locus control region-derived gene regulatory cassettes for stem cell engineering.' The program provides independent research scientists with one year of salary support for a predoctoral student or a postdoctoral fellow in their labs.
