Professor Thomas DeGloma Wins Charles Horton Cooley Award for New Book, 'Seeing the Light'
Professor Thomas DeGloma, of the Sociology Department, was given the 2015 Charles Horton Cooley Award for his latest book, Seeing the Light, at a meeting of the American Sociological Association (ASA) in Chicago. The Best Book prize for Seeing the Light (University of Chicago Press) was awarded by the ASA's Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction section. Named by Robert Wuthnow, of Princeton University, 'one of the best books I've read in a long time,' Seeing the Light is 'a rich account of awakening narratives...for anyone interested in autobiographical accounts and the roles they play in social life, Seeing the Light is the book to read.'
