Professor Larry Shore's Lecture in Johannesburg Recognizes the 50th Anniversary of RFK's Historic Visit to South Africa
Professor Larry Shore of the Film & Media Department, who produced the film RFK in the Land of Apartheid, was in South Africa recently to discuss the role played by the US 'in the liberation of South Africa through the Anti-Apartheid Movement and the American Civil Rights Movement,' according to an article in The Star, a Johannesburg newspaper. The lecture outlined the historic meeting between Chief Albert Luthuli and Senator Robert F. Kennedy on his first visit to South Africa, and was attended by 'learners from five different schools, the youth development group, academics and colleagues.'
